Hi, I’m Jessica, your celebration cake creator! I love that I get to be part of your special celebrations in life. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing the look on the face of my clients as they see their cakes for the first time.
I love parties and party planning and have made cakes for every occasion you could possibly imagine. I know that you could easily pop to the supermarket and buy an off the shelf celebration cake for under £10. This is why I believe ordering a custom cake needs to be special and unique to you and worth every penny.
I aim to exceed your expectations in both decoration and importantly in taste!
Always carry the cake box from the base and don’t put anything on top of the lid. You need to keep the cake flat for transport – the best place is either the passenger side footwell or the boot of your car. Do not ever place a cake on a car seat or another passengers lap as this could cause the cake to slide.
If you have ordered a buttercream cake you want to store your cake in the fridge until 1-2 hours before your party. Allow the cake to come back to room temperature before eating. If you have ordered a fondant iced cake it does not need to be stored in the fridge.
I recommend that all cakes are eaten within 48 hours of being cut.
I cannot do a copy of another cake maker’s work. The very nature of handmade products is that each one will differ from cake to cake and depending on who is making it. You can certainly send photos and I can produce something similar, but it will never be a direct copy.
The portions advised in the price guide for Party Cakes are based on 2”x2” and 1”x2” servings. How many servings you get ultimately depends on how you choose to cut the cake. I will provide a cutting guide with each order.
Tasting boxes and consultations are primarily for wedding clients spending over £200. You are welcome to order and pay for a postal tasting box if you would like to taste my cakes before you order.
I am home based cake maker with a private studio I am not a shop. Every cake is baked to order so I never have cakes available for purchase on the day.
Whilst I always recommend booking in advance sometimes I can fit in a simple cake last minute. It is always worth asking, though I will require a minimum of 3 days notice.
I aim to reply to all enquiries within 48 hours Monday – Friday. Sometimes when I am busy in the kitchen preparing somebody else’s dream wedding cake this can take a little longer. For any urgent enquiries please email info@jessicalaurencakes.co.uk directly.
